Worship
"As the deer pants for streams of water,
so my soul pants for you, O God.
My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When can I go and meet with God?" Psalm 42:1,2
The very reason for our existence as a community of Christians is to worship.
"Through the preaching of the Word and the celebration of the Sacraments, in praise, prayer, teaching and fellowship, God sustains the life of the church." "Worship draws us into the work of Christ."
Drummond Hill takes every opportunity to provide ways and means to worship. We put our best effort into celebrating God in order that we may glorify and enjoy God. Every Sunday we do our utmost to offer worship that belongs to God.
"Worship... is an adventure of the spirit, a flight after the unattainable." (Alfred North Whitehead)
Currently we worship on Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. and Monday evening at 7:30 p.m.
In September of 2009 we began new participatory worship services at 9:00 am on Sundays. Children, youth and adults come together participating in all kinds of way. Those who play instruments bring their instruments and play to praise God. Those who can read lead in prayer, responsive reading and Scripture readings. Those who are too young may help us with procession as well as offering. We are adding more and more ways to participate in worship.
Our Monday evenings are getting very exciting. The second Monday of each month, we begin gathering at 5:30 p.m. to prepare evening meals. At 6:00 p.m. we share food and fellowship.
Every Monday at 7:00 p.m. mission study focuses us on what we do as Christians. Then, at 7:30 we come together for worship. It has been enriching experience to all who have attended. We invite you to come and join us. You may join us for dinner, an activity and worship or just for an activity or worship or dinner.
